Amazon Discounts Kindle with a Small Nuisance

Amazon has dropped their prices to $ 114.00 for a Kindle....IF you agree to put up with ads.

It is called the 'Kindle with Special Offers'.

The ads will not appear while you are reading-only on the home page and sometimes as a screen saver. It is a black and white screen so the ads won't stand out that much.

The simplest Nook from Barnes & Noble starts at $ 149.00 ranging all the way to $ 249.00. So if you're looking for a simple e-reader and don't mind the ads, the discounted Kindle may be the way to go.

The $ 114.00 'Kindle with Special Offers' will be available May 3, 2011 on Amazon, at Best Buy and Target.

FCC leaks schematics and specs on the new Dell Panerai

Leaked FCC schematics show that Dell is developing a new convertible tablet and notebook combo. The whole display itself is 15" and is supposively called the Dell Panerai. It is going to be a more developed Duo-with a better battery life and faster processor. Let's see if it's better know than the Inspiron Duo. This is just the beginning for the tablet/laptop concepts.

New Sidekick 4G from T-Mobile

T-Mobile is releasing the new Sidekick 4G.

I used to have a Sidekick and it was AMAZING. I loved it. I actually had 3 of them until freshman year of college. Then decided I needed a blackberry. That's not the point. The point is...
In Orlando, the Sidekick made it's appearance and this one is created by Samsung. The keyboard is supposively very smooth and easy to type with and it has touch display. The screen pops out different than the old one. It doesn't swivel but it isn't very sturdy (according to critics.)

The camera is OK but nothing special but if you liked the old Sidekick, you'll probably love this one.

It runs on a 1GHz Hummingbird processor and it is very fast and responsive.

Stay tuned to see what new phones are released between T-Mobile and AT&T after AT&T purchased T-Mobile!

Release of the iPad 2-Is it THAT much better than the first?

The iPad 2 was released Friday, March 11, 2011 and the question I'm posing is.....

Is it THAT much better than the first iPad?

They look the same...maybe a little thinner but they look the same to me!

So....
Do owners of the first iPad want to go out and spend over $500.00 on a brand new iPad??
Let's take a look at the list of features:
*thinner and lighter (supposedly)-haven't held one for myself but I plan on it.
*Dual-core A5 chip and Apple claims "Two powerful cores in one A5 chip mean iPad can do twice the work at once."
*Longer lasting battery
*FACETIME!
(Yes, I love facetime even though I don't have an iPhone or iPad. I love using facetime thought!
Other features include:
*9.7 inch LED back lit screen (great for movies and pictures)
*You can choose from either an iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G or simply Wi-Fi from AT&T or Verizon Wireless. Wi-fi plus 3G would access instantly to ANYTHING you wanted to do. With the original iPad, you are limited to AT&T with Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + 3G. If you already use Verizon Wireless or like Verizon and not AT&T, the iPad 2 seems like the better option.

The most interesting thing I find about the iPad 2 is the cover that can fold back for making it stand up or to simply protect it when you throw it in your bag or carrying it.
Available in a ton of colors, you can pick which one fits you.
I'd go for light blue-just saying....

There are a million reasons why I want the iPad 2, but when I saw this video I couldn't help but think it is not that much better...just a great money maker for Apple this month.

Watch this promo for the iPad 2-totally worth it

My question still remains....is it THAT much better?
Tell me what you think....

E-Readers...Kindle or Nook??

Carrying around a heavy backpack of books is never fun so whoever created the popular E-Readers, THANK YOU!!!!! I would love to read more, but I have more books laying around that I know what to do with. From Nicholas Sparks books to Miley Cyrus books, it would be a lot easier to keep them all in one place. Using my friend's Nook or my Dad's Kindle, I would definitely love to buy one-just have to decide which one is better!
The Kindle is easy to use, big screen, and has so many book options it seemed like the better choice. But on the other hand, the Nook comes in full color screen, internet, and you can play music and videos on it. A little more expensive, but the extra features may have already made up my mind.
After trying both again, the Kindle is very easy to navigate and you can easily figure out how to read on it, but the Nook is a little more difficult. The screen is not always responsive and I could not figure out how to easily loan a book to a friend (one of the main features) and I could not even play music easily!
The Kindle is slim and has a full keyboard, and easy buttons to use, but who doesn't love a touch screen on the Nook?

No matter how many features are the same on the Nook and the Kindle and they both serve the same purpose-to read books without actually having to carry the books. A phenomenal idea that now works great for college students also because you can get textbooks on your E-Readers too. This is definitely what

I have made my decision and I choose the Nook because I like all of the extra features, but which one would you pick??

The Apple iPhone 4...now on AT&T and Verizon Wireless

The Apple iPhone 4 has been making headlines since the day it was released as the must-have of the decade. On June 29, 2007 the first iPhone was released and it was not a huge sensation. In 2008, the iPhone 3G was released and broke a record for sales of a cell phone ever. AT&T sold over 1 million phones in under 3 days. For a phone that had just been released a year earlier, those numbers are pretty amazing. In June of 2010, the latest iPhone was released and sold almost 2 million iPhones in the first 4 days-breaking another record.
It was only last month that one of the largest networks released the iPhone 4. Verizon has the network, has the marketing, the advertising and was only lacking one thing: the iPhone. After years of Apple only exclusively giving AT&T the rights to sell the iPhone, on February 3, 2011 the iPhone 4 went on pre-sale for Verizon. Statistics show that the Verizon smartphone did surpass AT&T in sales but not by much.
Either way, the phone has features and apps that you can only dream of. It combines the features of having a Mac with FaceTime video chat (just like iChat) and an App Store with over 500 third-party apps and by Spring of 2009, one billion apps had been downloaded from the App Store. The latest number is 10,000,000 (yes, 10 billion) apps have been downloaded from the App Store worldwide (including downloads to computers, iPads, iPhones and iTouch.).
Continuing with the features of the iPhone 4, this smart phone (the name fits perfectly) allows you to watch videos, store your entire iTunes on this pocket sized device, read books, sync as many e-mail accounts as you like, view all of your digital photos in one easy place, surf the web, gives you the weather wherever you are, and will tell you how to get home if you're lost. This is just the beginning of what this phone can do. Weighing a mere 4.8 oz, you can't go wrong.
Although I am not an owner of an iPhone 4, as SOON as I am eligible for an upgrade I will be in the store!

The Apple iPhone 4 is definitely the biggest must have right now and it is just the beginning of a new revolution for smart phones.
